Terms and Conditions

The rules for using MetaDoc and At Home Doc, requesting care through our website and apps, and what each of us is responsible for.

Who we are

  • At Home Doc is operated by Medihealth Solutions Doha under Ministry of Public Health licence No. 5819. MetaDoc is the brand and the app through which you ask for and manage that care.
  • These terms apply when you use our websites, the MetaDoc app, our staff and member care apps, or message our team to request a service. By ticking the agreement box on a form, or by using the service, you accept them.
  • If you do not agree with them, please do not submit a request. You can still reach us by phone.

Our role and the licensed providers

We arrange your care. Parts of it are delivered by licensed professionals and facilities, and it matters that you know which is which.

  • Doctors, nurses, laboratories, pharmacies and other professionals who deliver your care are licensed by the Ministry of Public Health. Each is responsible for the clinical care and the clinical judgement they give you.
  • We choose and coordinate providers, share the details they need to look after you, and handle the booking, messages and follow-up. We do not interfere with a practitioner's clinical decisions.
  • Some services, such as a laboratory test or a medicine, may be provided by a partner laboratory or pharmacy. When that happens, their own professional rules apply to that part of your care.
  • A booking request is not a medical consultation and does not create a doctor and patient relationship until a licensed practitioner has accepted and begun your care.

Emergencies and medical information

  • MetaDoc is not an emergency service. If you or someone with you has chest pain, trouble breathing, heavy bleeding, a sudden weakness or loss of speech, a seizure, loss of consciousness, or any other danger to life, call 999 in Qatar or go to the nearest emergency department. Do not wait for us.
  • If what you tell us suggests you need emergency care, we will say so and direct you to it instead of sending a home visit.
  • Articles, health checks, quizzes and other information on our sites and apps are general information. They are not a diagnosis, and they do not replace advice from a practitioner who has examined you.
  • A home visit has limits. The practitioner may decide, at the visit, that your condition needs a clinic, a hospital or tests that cannot be done at home, and will tell you so.

Requests and bookings

  • Sending a form or a WhatsApp message is a request, not a confirmed booking. A booking is confirmed when our care team confirms the service, the place and the time with you.
  • We cover the areas and services we list. If your address or request is outside them, we will tell you.
  • Please tell us early if you need to change or cancel. We may decline or stop a visit if the information you gave was wrong, if the setting is not safe for the practitioner, or if the visit would not be clinically suitable.
  • Times we mention are arranged with you at confirmation. Nothing on our sites is a guarantee of a particular arrival time.
  • You must be 18 or older to request care for yourself. If you book for a child, a parent or the legal guardian must give the details and be present.

Prices, payment and insurance

  • We tell you the price, or what your insurance covers, before you agree to a service.
  • Where a service is covered by an insurer such as AlKoot, or by a company or member programme, the coverage, approvals, limits and any co-payment are set by that insurer or programme and its own terms. We pass on the details needed for pre-approval and billing, and we cannot promise an approval.
  • If a service turns out not to be covered, we will tell you before it goes ahead, and you can choose whether to pay or to stop.
  • Staff, hotel and member apps are provided through a company, hotel or programme. Being listed there does not change these terms, and the programme's own rules on who can use it still apply.

Your responsibilities

  • Give accurate information about your health, your medicines, your allergies and your insurance, and tell us when something changes. Wrong or missing information can make care unsafe.
  • Use the service only for yourself or for someone you are allowed to act for, and do not submit false or misleading requests.
  • Treat our practitioners and staff with respect, and give them a safe place to work. A practitioner may leave a visit if they are threatened or harassed.
  • Keep your sign-in codes and your phone private. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
  • Do not misuse our sites and apps: no scraping, no attempts to break in or overload them, and no use that breaks Qatari law.

Responsibility and limits

Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under Qatari law that cannot be limited, including your rights as a patient.

  • The clinical care you receive is the responsibility of the licensed practitioner or facility that delivers it. Our responsibility is for the service we provide: arranging, coordinating and handling your request carefully.
  • We work to keep our sites and apps available and accurate, but they are provided as they are. They may be interrupted for maintenance or by things outside our control, such as the internet, WhatsApp or your phone network.
  • Links to other sites, insurers or partners are for your convenience. Their content and their rules are theirs.

Our content and changes to these terms

  • The MetaDoc and At Home Doc names, logos, text, images and software belong to us or to our licensors. You may use them to use the service, and not to copy or resell them.
  • We may update these terms when the service or the law changes. The date at the bottom of this page shows the latest version, and the version in force when you send a request is the one that applies to it.
  • These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Qatar. If we cannot settle a problem together, the competent courts of Qatar will decide it.
