Patient rights, protection and information sharing
What you can expect from us as a patient, how we protect you and your information, and exactly when your details are shared with anyone outside MetaDoc.
Your rights as a patient
- To be treated with respect, dignity and courtesy, whatever your nationality, religion, gender or age.
- To know who is caring for you. Before a visit we share the name and MOPH licence number of the licensed practitioner, and they show their identification when they arrive.
- To clear information about your condition, tests and treatment, in Arabic or English and in words you can understand.
- To give or refuse consent. No examination, test or treatment goes ahead without your agreement, and you can change your mind at any time.
- To privacy during your care, and to have your information kept confidential.
- To have a family member or someone you trust with you during a visit, and to ask for a second opinion.
- To see your results and records and to ask for a copy of them.
- To know the price before you agree to a service, and what your insurance covers.
- To raise a concern or a complaint without it affecting your care in any way.
How we protect you
- Licensed care only. At Home Doc is operated by Medihealth Solutions Doha under Ministry of Public Health licence No. 5819, and every practitioner we send is licensed.
- Safe advice first. If what you describe needs emergency care, we tell you plainly and direct you to it instead of sending a home visit.
- We ask only for what we need to arrange and deliver your care.
- Your health information is never sold and never used for advertising.
- Everyone who works with your information, our team and our providers, is bound by confidentiality.
- Your records in the MetaDoc app are protected with sign-in codes and two-factor authentication, and consultations are encrypted.
- We handle personal information in line with Qatar's Law No. 13 of 2016 on the Protection of Personal Data Privacy.
What we ask of you
- Give us accurate information about your health, your medicines and your insurance, and tell us when something changes.
- Treat our practitioners with respect, and give them a safe place to work during the visit.
- Tell us early if you need to change or cancel a booking.
Your choices and how to reach us
- You can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete what we are not required by law to keep.
- You can stop marketing messages at any time by telling us on WhatsApp. Messages about a booking you made will still reach you.
- If something went wrong, tell us first so we can put it right. You can also raise a concern with Qatar's Ministry of Public Health.
