Privacy Policy

What information we collect, why we collect it, who it is shared with, how it is protected, and the choices you have.

Who is responsible for your information

  • Medihealth Solutions Doha, which operates At Home Doc and MetaDoc under Ministry of Public Health licence No. 5819, decides why and how your information is used. We handle personal information in line with Qatar's Law No. 13 of 2016 on the Protection of Personal Data Privacy.
  • This policy covers our websites, the MetaDoc app, the staff, member and hotel care apps, the care portal, our forms, and our conversations with you on WhatsApp and by phone.

What we collect

  • Contact details: your name, mobile number, email address, area and home or office address.
  • Request details: the service you asked for, the reason, any note you write, the preferred day, and who the visit is for.
  • Health information: symptoms, conditions, medicines, allergies, test results and reports, and the notes a practitioner makes during your care. This is sensitive information and we treat it that way.
  • Insurance and programme details: your insurer, member or staff number, and the company or hotel programme you use, where that applies.
  • Your messages to us on WhatsApp, and notes from calls with our care team.
  • Sign-in information for the records area of the care apps: your email address and the one-time codes sent to it.
  • Basic technical information on our public pages, such as the pages opened, the device and browser type, and button taps.

Why we use it

  • To arrange, deliver and follow up your care, and to confirm your booking with you.
  • To share with the licensed providers who look after you, and with your insurer when you choose to use insurance.
  • To keep your records in the care app so you and the care team can see them.
  • To contact you on WhatsApp or by phone about your request, and about your care and any follow-up.
  • To keep the service safe and working, to meet our duties under Qatari law and Ministry of Public Health rules, and to improve the site and the service.
  • We do not sell your information, and we never use your health information for advertising.

Who we share it with

We share only what each party needs, and only for a reason set out here. Everyone who handles your information is bound by confidentiality.

  • Licensed providers assigned to your booking (doctor, nurse, laboratory, pharmacy, imaging or other services): your name, phone number, area and address, the service, and the clinical details they need to care for you safely. They also keep their own clinical records, as the law requires of them.
  • Insurers and programme sponsors, such as AlKoot, only when you choose to use your insurance or a programme: the details needed for eligibility, pre-approval and billing. A company or hotel that offers a staff or guest app does not see your health details.
  • WhatsApp (Meta) and the business messaging platform our team uses to read and answer messages: the messages you send, and your phone number.
  • Hosting and database services: our website is hosted by a web host, and the records area of the care apps uses a private database service with an encrypted file store for reports. These providers store information for us and may do so on servers outside Qatar. They may not use it for their own purposes.
  • Email and form delivery services, which carry the details of a form you send to our care team.
  • Measurement tools: on our public pages, Google Analytics and Meta (Facebook) count visits and taps so we can improve the site and our ads. They receive browsing information such as the pages you open. They do not receive your name, phone number, form details, or your answers in our health checks. The Meta tag does not run in the care apps, the care portal or the feedback page.
  • Companies in our group that run MetaDoc services, and professional advisers such as auditors and lawyers, under the same rules as on this page.
  • The Ministry of Public Health and other authorities, when Qatari law requires it, or when someone's safety is at serious risk.
  • If our business is ever sold or merged, the information moves with it under the same protections, and we will tell you.

Where your information is kept

  • Some of the services above store information on servers outside Qatar. When that happens we use providers that protect it with security measures, and we share only what is needed.
  • Answers you give in our online health checks stay in your own browser and are not sent to us unless you choose to send them with a booking.
  • Details sent through a form are stored by our website host, and only our care team can open them. Care records are stored in a private database that only authorised care team members can read.

How we protect it

  • Sign-in to the records area uses a one-time code sent to your email, and access is limited by rules in the database so a person can only open their own records.
  • Test reports are kept in a private file store, not in a public folder, and are opened through short-lived secure links.
  • Our sites and apps use encrypted connections, and consultations are encrypted.
  • Only the people who need your information to do their job can see it, and they are bound by confidentiality.
  • No system is perfectly secure. If a problem affects your information, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

How long we keep it

  • We keep medical and booking records for as long as Qatari law and Ministry of Public Health rules require healthcare providers to keep them, and for as long as we need them to look after you and to settle any claim or question about your care.
  • When we no longer need information and the law does not require us to keep it, we delete it or make it anonymous.

Your choices and rights

  • You can ask what information we hold about you, and ask for a copy of your records.
  • You can ask us to correct information that is wrong or out of date.
  • You can ask us to delete what we are not required by law to keep, to stop using it, or to stop sharing it where sharing is not needed for your care.
  • You can withdraw your agreement at any time. This does not undo what was already done with your agreement, and we may still need to keep records the law requires.
  • You can stop marketing messages at any time by telling us on WhatsApp. Messages about a booking you made will still reach you.
  • If you are not happy with how we handled your information, tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the competent authority in Qatar.

Children and cookies

  • We collect a child's information only from a parent or legal guardian, to arrange the child's care.
  • Our public pages use cookies and similar tools for measurement, and the care apps save a few settings in your browser, such as your language and your bookings on your own phone. You can clear these in your browser at any time.

Changes to this policy

  • We may update this policy when the service or the law changes. The date at the bottom of this page shows the latest version. For the rights you hold as a patient, see our Patient rights and information sharing page.
